EXPLORE RECOVERY

Picture
Here you will find treatment that has heart and is built upon the foundation of dignity and respect for every person. Our Vision, Mission and Purpose are weaved throughout our agency and staff so that the treatment
we provide on a daily basis assists individuals to
"Rise and Thrive."

Medicine Wheel Recovery Services' sole purpose is to contribute to building healthy lives, families and communities by reducing the suffering
caused by addictions and unaddressed mental health issues.

We are Medicine Wheel Recovery Services

Medicine Wheel Recovery Services, Inc. was conceived by Co-Founders and Executive Directors Pam Councell and Tana Howtopat based on their experiences in the fields of behavioral health and social work.  Each has gathered a rich collection of experiences and education,
and has brought their expertise together to create the foundation for MWRS.

While MWRS started as a shared vision—a dream—for Councell and Howtopat, the idea actually began to come to life at the beginning of 2015,
as they began the footwork for creating the agency. The business became incorporated in April of 2015, and filed for tax-exempt status in May of 2015.
MWRS is guided by a diverse Board of Directors  that brings insight and guidance to all that we do.
Medicine Wheel Recovery Services’ core team is a group of professionals with a variety of skills, but despite coming from diverse backgrounds,
every team member shares a passion for helping others to achieve wellness.

Medicine Wheel Recovery Services is built upon a foundation of respect, diversity, culture, and collaboration. Our business model provides top quality services to those in need, creates jobs in Columbia County, generates revenue in our community, and supports our community partners who are overwhelmed with the high needs of a population which has been greatly under-served.  MWRS has evolved and grown to accommodate the needs of Columbia County residents, as well as others from across the country seeking culturally relevant treatment services.
