Access to MWRS Lodging
Participants in the Modern Warrior Men’s Program and the Inipi Women’s Program stay in our clean and sober lodging
for the duration of the treatment episode. Unlike more restrictive treatment settings usually reserved for high levels of care,
our lodging units provide a unique opportunity for participants in these programs to live in our community and practice
recovery skills in “real-time.” Participants re-learn how to function successfully by finding clean and sober support systems,
identifying and utilizing resources, contributing to the community through service work, and by working to achieve fulfillment
in all areas of their lives (physical health, mental and emotional wellness, cultural and spiritual connection, and healthy socialization)
while engaging in treatment in our community of Columbia County. The goal of our approach is to provide participants with skills which can be practiced daily, and support (including mentorship) to guide them through the process. When participants graduate from their programs, they have the skills and confidence to successfully return to their home communities and continue their recovery journeys.
MWRS has secured multiple houses in Columbia County to provide lodging for program participants. Each house is accessible to our main offices and the cultural activities building where services occur, and transportation is provided for all program services and activities.
The houses are fully furnished (including laundry facilities), and internet is provided. Participants live with peers in a family-style environment. Purchasing and preparation of meals and maintaining the household is the responsibility of each participant.
Close connections between peers happen in this environment, creating a natural support system that
often lasts long after participants complete their programs.
MWRS Program Lodging is not a permanent solution for those seeking housing. Access to lodging is dependent upon program participation. Upon graduation from services, participants will depart from MWRS to begin their lives in recovery.
Termination (for lack of participation or for inability to follow the lodging rules) results in immediate loss of lodging at MWRS.
